The Oceana Beach Resort Suite: one of the most famous private beaches in Lebanon

In the jungle of Lebanese bling-bling and show-off beaches, Oceana is a forerunner. It is historically one of the first Lebanese beaches prized by sexy party girls and other beach-goers sculpted like Greek gods.

She is indeed one of the pioneers of the genre to have imagined a private beach resort reserved for adults, with restaurants, alcohol, music and tutti quanti.

Hey! this article is part of my guide to the BEST plans to make in Lebanon, which you can find the summary here! If you liked it, don't hesitate to leave me a little comment and share it with me 😉

Since then, Oceana has been hemmed in by even bigger and more impressive beaches (we'll come back to that in this guide). Nevertheless, it remains in the Lebanese mind one of the reference beaches, and if its size has been reduced in the last few years, the party is still crazy.

To get there, head towards Damour, in the south of Beirut (15 minutes by car), where you will find a lot of beaches, each one more impressive than the other: Janna, Utopia, and thus Oceana.

For your information, Damour is a Lebanese coastal city located about 24 km south of Beirut. The name of the city is derived from the name of the Phoenician god Damoros which symbolizes eternity (ديمومة in Arabic). It attracts many tourists because it is the closest sandy beaches to the capital.

Oceana has the particularity of being located in the heart of a vast 25,000 m² banana plantation. On your way there, you will pass by these banana plantations, which will give you the impression of being in the middle of an exotic landscape, 20,000 leagues away from the atmosphere of the city.

Once you've paid the parking lot steward £3,000 (a very welcoming character by the way, who will warmly invite you to go and park your car in the isolated wasteland, while the luxurious cars will be displayed near the entrance), you can walk to the entrance, paying of course, like everything else in Lebanon.

Between 25,000 and 30,000 Lebanese pounds per person (about 15 euros, the entrance fee of a nightclub in France), you will be entitled to a fine sandy beach, crazy waves and a very... special atmosphere!

The complex used to have four swimming pools, loud music, a Crepeaway, Dunkin Donuts, and generally everything America has ever had wrong. Except that in the meantime, it seems that the crisis has passed by, and the complex has been reduced to its simplest apparatus: a pool, a bar, a restaurant and a beach.

The complex is bordered by lawns, palm trees and very Caribbean scenery. In the pool, ask for your glass of champagne or Almaza beer directly in the water.

A wealth of ultra-comfortable sofas and sun loungers are also at your disposal for sunbathing in good conditions.

At the executive level, it remains a little below the standing of the Eddeh Sands in Jbeil for example, but this beach is still a classic in Lebanon.

At weekends, Oceana can turn into a huge beach party, a discipline that may not be to everyone's taste, but will delight beach partyers.

But what remains most beautiful in Oceana, and more generally on the Lebanese coast, is the sunset.

As for the sea, it is rather clean and very pleasant in this part of Lebanon, so enjoy it!
