Broumana, one of Lebanon's favourite villages

Situated at the top of a hill in the Metn, Broummana or Broumana or Broumena is a true traditional resort known throughout the Middle East region.

The reputation of this village comes mainly from its hotels, its pleasant climate, its greenery and its summer nightlife. Located only 20 minutes drive from the capital, the location offers a breathtaking view of Beirut and the coastline.

It is therefore a must during your holidays in Lebanon!

Once considered a true summer resort, Broummana was the favourite tourist destination of wealthy travellers from the Gulf countries. After having lost some of its splendour among these tourists, whose numbers have considerably decreased due to the successive geopolitical tensions in the region, the village has gradually regained its colours by becoming a prestigious tourist destination for a new type of clientele, more diversified.

The renovation of the infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, building facades) makes it a pleasant destination with its many hotels, restaurants and cafés.

Nicknamed "the city of flowers", Broumana impresses by the magnificent facades of its traditional houses decorated with multicoloured bouquets, its thousands of majestic pines that add shade to its streets and bring fresh and pure air to its surroundings.

At an altitude of 650 to 800 metres, Broumana welcomes a large number of partygoers in search of mild summer nights away from the overwhelming heat of the capital.

The village has all the assets to conquer the heart of night owls: bars, terraces, restaurants, hotels, cafes, etc...

The place is best enjoyed on a walk, wandering through the streets between the traditional houses with their typical windows and the various restaurants. But also to enjoy the hotels, and the incredible view that the area offers.

For my part, it was at Batchig's that I ate during my last visit to Broumana, a nice and welcoming restaurant of Armenian specialties.

But this little culinary sauterie will be the subject of a future article... See you soon 😉
